Dates: 21st May and welcome evening on 20th May, 2015

Location: Heythrop Park, Oxfordshire, UK - a lovely country retreat

We started the event with a relaxed evening on 20th May with an informal introductory session from sponsors EMCC International, followed by a members dinner

AOCS and The OCM have combined forces to host an inaugural and different kind of supervision event that was a fresh approach to professional networking, learning and development.

Our shared vision was to hold an event that feels and looks very different to traditional coaching conferences - more of an 'unconference' really - that provides real engagement on key topics so that participants can go deeper, to experience and explore the themes more closely, to be both reflective and pragmatic in the application of ideas. We believed that this approach would have a real impact on people's practice/products/services offered.

Our event style was facilitative using 'open space' concepts, to replicate the supervision process, focus on reflection, and be experiential. We favoured short keynotes and administrative announcements than formal input.

Benefits included:

  • real engagement on key topics, enabling deeper debate and understanding
  • opportunity to experience and explore the themes more closely to create a real impact on delegate's practice/products/services offered
  • contribution towards creating a coaching/learning culture in organisations
  • find out current developments in supervision

The event was timely and was a chance to take a look at ourselves, to adapt to the changing environment, and to an evolving profession. This event focused on the emerging themes in the field of coaching, mentoring, and coach supervision and asked what were the key changes and how should we respond to them?

Across Boundaries enabled us to:

  • avoid the perceived barriers by having a dynamic exchange
  • come together from different perspectives, to collaborate and share our diverse experience
  • attract others to network around key topics of importance in the field

Some key names involved included David Clutterbuck, Katherine Long, Alison Hodge, Sara Hope, Emily Cosgrove, Michelle Lucas, Carol Whittaker...and many more.

Our sponsors included EMCC International, AC, ICF Global, Oxygen Insurance, Kogan Page, Coaching Signatures.
